This part of the web site is about grandmother Alice Dacre and her ancestors.
Her part of the family tree has been split into two diagrams, one is her paternal branch (the Dacres) and one is her maternal branch (the Moorbys).

Dacre's father was Walter Dacre.
In the 1911 census, his occupation is shown as a Tar Boiler working for the City of Leeds Highways Department. The photograph on the left shows him at work.
His father Joseph Dacre was also shown in the 1911 census working for the council as a carter in the cleaning department. His occupation in earlier censuses is more cryptically shown as a Scavenger. However this job title was often used for street cleaners or garbage collectors. This would not be a PC job title today.
